Supporting Our Community

Duns Players consider ourselves to be part of our community and actively seeks to play our part by supporting community causes where possible and appropriate. We have made the following donations to charitable organisations.

Since 2011 our Armistice Week Productions always aim to make a donation to an appropriate charity.

2011: Help for Heroes: £2000
2012: RAF Benevolent Fund: £1000
2013: Combat Stress: £600
2014: SAFFA: £500
2015: War Child: £500
2016: Royal British Legion: £500, Comic Relief: £225

Other donations have been made as follows:

2013: Chirnside Support Base to assist the funding of a trip to the theatre.

In 2012-13 following the outstanding success of Calendar Girls Duns Players donated £562.50 to the MacMillan Trust and £937.50 to Leukemia Research.

2013: £131 was donated to the Vine Trust to support Berwickshire High School pupils trip to Peru.

2013: £250 seed money to A Heart For Duns.

2014-15:

Duns Summer Festival £200
Plus £206 jointly with DDAOS to Duns Summer Festival as takings from our Reivers night entertainment.

Each year Duns Players donates £25 to support an award for the performing arts at Berwickshire High School. The winners have been:

2015-16: Barnaby Bevan

Our total donated to local causes so far since 2011 is: £8012 a record of which we are justly proud.
