The Importance Of Being Earnest
Duns Players’ production of The Importance Of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde is nearly upon us!
Opening with a half-price preview on Wednesday 10th May, the show runs from Thursday 11th to Saturday 13th May, 7.30 pm, Volunteer Hall, Duns, TD11 3AF.
An excellent cast includes Kate Lester as the formidable Lady Bracknell, Euan McIver as the Reverend Chasuble and Ben Foreman as Jack while introducing no fewer than three sparkling Duns Players debutants in the roles of Gwendolen, Cecily and Algernon.
Irresistibly funny, Wilde’s best-loved play is not without its darker side which perhaps helps to explain the enduring appeal of a work to which Duns Players – no strangers to the darker side – mean to do every justice. The audience is invited to forget about the election, relax, enjoy free cucumber sandwiches, have a drink, sit back and revel in the words of a master given new life by the ever-delightful and all-but-professional Duns Players.
