‘Ladies’ Day’ is next comedy from Duns Players

Play has “all the warmth of Calendar Girls or The Full Monty”

Tickets sales started this week for Duns Players next comedy production: ‘Ladies’ Day’ by Amanda Whittington.

The play, which reviews say has “all the warmth of a Calendar Girls or Full Monty”, follows fish-factory workers Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda as they set out for a girls’ outing to Ladies’ Day at Royal Ascot in York.

Out go the wellies and overalls and in come the high heels and fascinators as the girls doll themselves up for a flutter on the horses. As the day unfolds, the champagne flows, secrets spill out and life begins to look as though it will never be the same again.

Directed by Peter Lerpiniere & Hannah Hay, and deftly performed by a cast of seasoned Players, plus some newer faces, Ladies’ Day promises to be a night to remember.

Performances are at 7.30pm at the Volunteer Hall, Duns, on Thursday 25, Friday 26 and Saturday 27 September. 7.30pm. Tickets £7 (£5 concessions) from Nairns Newsagents, Market Square, Duns, from our website or on the door.
