The next Duns Players show is something a little different. We’re staging David Mamet’s scorching Pultizer Prize-winner, Glengarry Glen Ross. The story of a group of desperate Chicago real estate salesmen who grind out a living by pushing plots of land onto reluctant buyers. As they lie, cheat, cajole, flatter, entrap and deceive to make a sale, the American dream becomes a nightmare. Closing a sale means you win a new Cadillac; lose one and well, you lose everything.

Due to the nature of this piece – it contains adult themes and very frequent bad language – we recognise that this isn’t going to be a play that will appeal to everyone. However, it’s a very powerful piece of drama and a challenge for us as a group and as individual actors.

We also think that Duns is ready for something a little more ‘edgy’ and hope that we’re going to proved right.
